Our ILBC is counseling an adoptive Mom, intending to breastfeed, who was
told by a "nurse" caring for the child that she shouldn't breastfeed
the baby since they are unsure of the relinquishing Mom's HIV status. Has
anyone else heard/been told this? We can certainly have the baby's
status checked, but even if it were positive, would breastfeeding be a
risk for the Mom? Thanks for your input, Robin
