I have had extensive experience of my own using these systems. We adopted
both our children, so I got very proficient at using these. The feeding-tube
setup isn't much more difficult if you're use to it, but the tube is so very
hard that both my babies hated it. Whereas the Lact-Aid or SNS are soft
tubes that they can't really feel in their mouths. Also, the Lact-Aid and
SNS are easy to use in public and take less. If it's for shortterm use, then
the improvised setup is often the cheapest way to go. But this is my
experience.
