Nursing to sleep in a recliner is scary.  I have see IKEA non-mechanical
"recliners" ages and ages ago that were nothing but a platform with a fairly
thin cushion, and those would seem to be a better idea.  The few times that
I was desperate enough to hold a sleeping baby on an unsafe surface, I had
the baby sleeping on me in a maya wrap sling in an upright position such
that even if I slipped sideways a bit, there could be no overlying.  I don't
know how that would be possible if a baby were nursing.  I wonder if those
TV watching/game playing chairs that are a padded piece on the floor with a
tall cloth and tube backrest would be acceptable?

The second link is exactly what I'm thinking of.  The first one, though,
would be more comfortable and just as safe (?), since there is nowhere to
entrap, either.  No armrests on either type, so mom would need a sling.
