This is a great videotape! What I liked is how the baby is actively
sucking. If you watch this again, notice how the baby's chin is moving
up and down and the baby is sucking. Notice how alert this baby is and
eyes are open and baby is driving the train. I love how the baby's nose
is out and the chin is in and the mom doesn't have to smoosh the breast
tissue down to make room for the nose and breathing.

This is a good one to show for moms with those sleepy drugged babies who
maybe latch on but don't suck and everyone thinks they are nursing but
can't figure out why they are not pooping and are losing weight. Must be
mom has no milk! Moms can compare their baby to this baby and see if
they see the same milking action of the jaw/chin/mouth.

I also like how the mom is using the baby's own instincts. We use the
instinct information when we teach our BRU class to hopefully help
parents learn something about the baby that no one in the family,
friends, doctor, or hospital seems to know! I added this video to our
hand out resource list of books, web sites, etc. for expectant parents.

That video on youtube where the nurse grips the baby's forehead to pull
her to the breast made me cringe. Not nice at all!

I hope Ameda makes DVD copies of this so I can use it to show via TVs at
mom's houses. It is nice and short and simple. (HINT, HINT Nancy!)
