I would imagine that Sushi could increase a pregnant woman's risk
of catching listeria, a type of gastroenteritis which can increase the
risk of miscarriage.
The problems of listeria are well-recognised in Australia, where I
suppose due to our hot weather food is more at risk of 'going off'.
The foods which are at most risk are pre-cooked meats, processed
meats, seafood, pre-prepared salads, and soft cheeses. (eg,
everything that makes life worthwhile :-)))

At the end of a hot, hot week, where even the fridge has stuggled
to cope.
