I have always felt that a coupon would be even more tolerable than the
cans. At baby fairs I've attended they don't even have displays about
how to mix the stuff or posters warning not to dilute it beyond
manufacturer's recommendation or caution about using powdered formula if
your water supply is questionable! I could tolerate that too! (I love
the calls about what formula do I recommend and how much should I feed.
I should give them the manufacturer's phone numbers!) This is the info
the manufacturers should be providing. They don't spend any money
educating those who do choose formula. I read about water supply problems
nearly weekly - from lead in the water of pipes in older homes to
bacterial problems with wells due to major contamination due to flooding,
runoff from pastures, etc. The other thing that bugs me about it is the
bf literature/videos they provide. My final $.02 on this is they also
should be warning mothers not to prop a bottle and teach them how to heat
the stuff! Baby Fairs including ABM vendors should require these vendors
to provide educational displays along with giveaways! (I was tempted to
write this all in caps as I am shouting!)
