I represented my hospital at our community kick-off for the JDF (Juvenile
Diabetes Foundation) Walk for the Cure.  As a part of the program a video
was shown of last year's walks, and prominent among the corporate sponsors
was Nestle -- shot of their corporate tent with the Nestle name -- and
there was also a shot of a bottle feeding baby in the video.

It seems quite inappropriate that Nestle or bottle feeding would be shown
since lack of breastfeeding is one of the risk factors for JD.  I am
questioning working with an organization that works to raise research money
for a cure and neglects prevention as the first defense against the disease.

Do any of you lactnetters have experience with JDF?  How appropriate is a
response letter from me to the heads of our community effort with a copy to
the national JDF office -- or the other way around?
