Medicalisation of infant feeding is how we got into this whole mess
in the first place!!>>

At first I was inclined to respond to this that this is exactly what has
happened in other , mostly less-developed, countries that are ahead of
us in the US on breastfeeding support and promotion.  However, then it
occurred to me that having something available only by Rx might lend to
it an air of being *more valuable* or exclusive and of course, most docs
would be only too happy to write the Rx!  Still, I remember a wonderful
pediatrician I had in Kentucky who bemoaned that if only it wasn't so
easy for moms to get a hold of formula, they wouldn't turn to it at the
drop of a hat when they were trying to breastfeed!  In our free-market
society, I can't see the Rx solution happening.

Marsha, still hoping the Ad Campaign will put a dent in the stone wall..
