Jan,

I'd look into allergies with this baby. Even when there are no visible signs
in mother or baby this type of baby often turns out to be sensitive to many
foods. I'm assuming the baby will begin supplements with the cup right away.
You may want to consider hypo allergenic types. I tend to start searching
out allergies with a food diary to get a feel for what the mother tends to
eat. I first look for trends, then I begin educating her about rotating
diets. Without careful counseling and educating so many mothers
unfortunately begin to avoid everything and the next thing you know they are
only eating chicken and rice.

The other question I have that you didn't answer was medications/birth
control use. I have seen this type of behavior in babes whose moms where on
the mini-pill.
