In one of the Woolridge/Fisher papers (Lancet, August 13, 1988) there is
a reference to the fact that vit K, a fat soluble vitamin, is found in
much higher amounts in the fatty hindmilk. And so yes some infants, when
breastfeeding is "managed" inappropriately (ie, feed both breasts, 10
min/side, every feeding), might have a vit K deficiency. They reference
the study which showed this, but my copy of this paper is a bit fuzzy on
that part of the page and I can't make out the original source of that
information.

Whether there has ever been much publication of this info, I don't know.
