I also inquired around town and the state where I know lots of LCs. I
found out that lots of hosps are looking into BFHI and going for cert.
of intent. I used this in a presentation to show that we have to "get
with the program " to keep our market share of the pts. (Of course we
know BFHI is good for moms and babies, but administrators look at the
almighty dollar too). I also shared that some pre-admitting maternity
clients have asked about our LC services and BFHI. This to show that
consumers ARE AWARE of this program and WANT IT FOR THEIR BIRTHS AND
BABIES. This was a great comeback to one of the docs who said consumers
don't even know about this. Thanks to our supportive Women's resource
center staff, they let us know that the customers are aware.
