jack - no, cortisone doesn't work without adjunct treatment (hey, doesn't that
sound medical). stacey, go for the splint before the orthotics, because it is
indeed cheaper, and should cure the problem, so that orthotics are not needed.
orthotics wear out and need to be replaced, and are not necessarily the best
fit or right treatment, anyway.

and how is this related to breastfeeding? my podiatrist, when he operated on
my foot, was sensitive to my desire to not have unnecessary anesthesia because
i was nursing my then eighteen month old daughter, and defended me against
everybody, including the anesthesiologist and the nurses, did his thing with
just a local, and then bragged to everybody in the recovery room about how
great i was.

which means i spent the whole hour of surgery politely discussing my
breastfeeding experiences with the anesthesiologist, who weaned her child at
some early age. just imagine me prosyletizing and being polite while being
operated on. *yes, i can be nice*
