I know a lot about breastfeeding. Yet I most definitely do not know
everything there is to know. I learn something new about breastfeeding
every single day--whether that is through the research that I do, attending
a conference, helping a mother and her baby learn to breastfeed, etc..
There is always, always more to learn. Each of us brings the strengths of
our own experiences to our work. Each of us has situations that we have not
experienced and know little or nothing about. That's why consulting with
one's colleagues, looking up studies, talking with mothers who have
experienced a situation, visiting or practicing in different settings, etc.
is so important. And, of course, LACTNET offers unique exposure to a
variety of situations, settings, experiences and perspectives with every
digest.
