Judi, and others, exactly how much tissue is snipped
when the frenulum is snipped? I personally haven't
seen the frenulum of a tongue tied baby, and have only
seen one tongue tied baby, but I often lift my tongue
and try to figure out how "invasive" the cutting is.
I assume it's minimal? Is it just a continuation of
that thin membrane that seems to have little vascular
tissue?

wrt people waiting to see if speech problems develop,
I think that is cruel. My daughter had her hearing
impairment fixed with tubes at 2.5, and at 5.5 is
still affected. She often mispronounces her own name
(sage) because she couldnt' hear the difference for a
long time. Thank the Goddess people dont' tease her,
but it's insane to disregard a simple thing that could
affect that child for decades.

ooops, but you all knew that. :-P
