My understanding was that the tea was to be given directly to the baby.  It
is true that lots of thing have been given for eons, but some like brandy
for teething can be fatal.  ANYTHING can cause an allergic reaction in the
right person.  We must repeat "watch your baby."  I still stand by my
statement that teas given directly to the baby are not at all desireable,
but can be used if we "watch the baby" and are absolutely sure of the source
and that they have not been oversprayed even in organic gardens.  For
specific teas, please email me the type and I can let you know what the
likely issues would be.  Not all teas of the same.  Tea made from evening
nightshade parts (esp berries) is fatal, so there's a world of difference
between fennel and something else.
