Had a 6 do last week who was fed 3 oz of formula every 2 hrs plus whatever ebm the mom could pump. Needless to say, baby exhibited signs of nipple confusion flow addiction and overfeeding. Did latch on and transferred well but only with the aid of a nipple shield. Followed up -that night parents complained of freq feeds but baby content when nursing and stooling. Next day followup, mom said, " I don't want him to get hooked on that thing" so they gave him bottles of breastmilk and formula during the night. Better to be "hooked-on" that thing -the bottle instead?! The logic is astounding.

Patience- it's a problem all around
