subject: personal code of ethics?

As IBCLCs, we have a professional Code of Ethics dictated by IBLCE. But
we each have our own code of ethics as well that we develop over time.
It has a more practical base, and probably covers not only our dealings
in a consult but some other issues as well, like how we incorporate our
work into our family responsibilities.

One tenet of mine, for instance, is always to leave a mother feeling
stronger and more optimistic than I found her. Another - slower to
evolve - is to take care of myself. Another is just the good old Golden
Rule.

What are some of the tenets in *your* personal code of ethics?
