Grace,
I find it very rare to have a yeast flaire up in the first 1-2 weeks
postpartum. From your description the problem sound like a combination of
first week sore nipples and complicated with engorgement.
You say the baby looks correct at latch, have you examined the baby's mouth?
Short frenulems, high arched palates and babies clinching on the nipple are
just a few examples of other reasons for sore nipples.
The reddness you described in the first few days sounds similiar to what
breast look like when engorged. Is this relieved?
Also, what was the history that made you feel it was yeast? Did she have
antibotics recently? Is she prone to yeast infections? Again this is early to
see thrush in the baby.
Is she getting any better yet?
