I have combined these emails as I felt Kathleen, that 'they sum up' all
Lactnet means to me. Thanks everyone, you are sanity for me over here! We
never 'all have', 'all the answers', 'all the time'- our experience helps us
'decide the course of action' and 'our inexperience' gives a challenge to
find an answer to the current problem confronting us, if not met before. I
don't feel the 'Negative factor' that is spoken of 'in the lower e-mails is
bad', maybe I am wrong. It just makes me think where that person is coming
from in their experience and I try to gain a little from their
statements........

One of the things that I think is so great about Lactnet is that we are all
equals. Each of us can pose questions. Each of us can respond. Everyone has
their area of expertise & we all learn from one another. Sometimes I get to
thinking about all the well-known people on Lactnet, but that doesn't mean
that those who are not as well-known have any less value. We all have
experience and value. That is what I like about Lactnet--Everyone has value
&
equal opportunity to voice their opinions.

Nancy has brought up the fact that she is disappointed with the negative
tone on Lactnet. Nancy, it is always disappointing when there is just
cause for negativity, and not all of what is said will always be positive.
I have discussed the need for subscribers to keep their comments non
personal, and limited, not running on at the "keyboard," on subjects that
have been covered, or causes stated. This puts a different filter onto
discussions and comments, while preserving objectivity.
However, there is no real way to stop the comments on negative events when
events shake the professional world we work in.

Just a thought. Kathleen
