If this has been talked about before I could not find it in a search.
A mom I am working with has twins born 13 days ago. They were full term and
both about 6lbs.
The mom has flat nipples but I got both babies on and they seemed to be doing
well in the first week. Her nipples were sore and we worked really hard on
positioning.

On day 7 they were weighed and back to birth weight at the doctor's office.
Day 8 the boy had a circumsision.

On the 10th night from 10:00 PM to the morning neither baby would feed well.
They would try to latch but act as if they forgot how to suck.
I went to the house and cup fed the girl once and then we got her latched.
The boy was stubborn and was trying but not getting on past the nipple..

The girl has her tongue down when you open her mouth and the boy has it up at
the top of his mouth.

The mom is not comfortable using a nipple shield (we may start one
tomorrow...)
The boy is getting expressed milk from a bottle now. I am having the mom put
the baby on his stomach (when she is near and awake) so that his tongue
muscles will start to come down. We have also tried a few other positions. He
will latch but his tongue is UP!

Is there any thing else I could try that I am not thinking of? I have read
back in the big breastfeeding books and at conference notes.

He did suck for 2-5 sucks at 2 feeds today (day 13).
I am hoping he will get the tongue down even more tomorrow.
