Hi All,

One of my kids was very sensitive to dairy, sugar, and artificial colors. I was very careful to explain this to her friends parents and babysitters, because my child's reactions were most unpleasant (hyper behavior, ear infections, and general nasty disposition).

One "friend" simply wouldn't believe that green lime-flavored Jell-O was bad for my daughter, and gave her a big bowl of it. During my daughter's worst days afterward, I made sure to visit this "friend" so she could witness firsthand what her actions had triggered.

I agree with Jay Simpson - consent is "everything." I too would be furious if anyone had fed my children - cross-nursed OR given a bottle of formula (even worse, IMHO) without my express permission. I'm the mom - I get to say what my kids are fed. PERIOD.

Linda Smith, struck by how clearly I remember the green jello incident 22 years ago.
