Dear Friends:

Human milk moves out of the stomach quickly and through the gut slowly.
Formula moves out of the stomach slowly and through the gut quickly. The
absolute difference in digestion lays the groundwork for adult gut disease.

I learned this courtesy of Valerie McCain, who posted links to patents,
invented to keep formula from making babies sick. Thank you Valerie!!

Inventor's name is Sawatzki:

"The qualitative differences between proteins in formula foods and human
milk proteins i.e. mother's milk proteins overall result in a different
course of digestion. Thus for example the residence time of the human milk
proteins in the stomach is shorter than that of the proteins from formula
foods. On the other hand, the enzymatic breakdown of the human milk proteins
in the small intestine takes place considerably more slowly than that of the
proteins from formula foods."

Talk about a smoking gun!!

warmly,
