Magda shared from an article:
From The Guardian, Friday December 1, 2000
Breastfeeding may guard against HIV
Sarah Boseley, health editor
(SNIP)
> His work has shown that the least safe method of feeding is the one most
> often practised in Africa - mixed breast and formula feeding. The scientists
> believe that contaminated water in the bottles may damage the baby's gut,
> allowing any HIV virus in the milk, which might pass through harmlessly, to
> enter the infant's system.(SNIP)

Contaminated with ... formula? I realize clean water is a serious issue
for many but am I wrong in my understanding that cows milk proteins
(even modified) found in formula cause perforations in the GI of an
infant?

Hurrah for Sarah Boseley and The Guardian! I really liked and
appreciated this article. Thanks for sharing Magda.
