As soon as the babe was delivered

This story warmed my heart, because it is my story also. I had a repeat
C-sec (darned ACOG guidelines about no vbacs ahem another topic entirely) and
luckily talked to my nurse in advance about not wanting any intervention to the
baby until I was brought back to my room after recovery. I remember being
wheeled into my room and the most beautiful sight awaited me. My husband was
skin to skin with our daughter and wrapped in a bath blanket. They had done
nothing with her, not weighed her, bathed her nothing until that moment. As
soon as I was settled into bed, Ron brought her to me, and she must have been
ready too, because she latched right away and was and continues to be the
best nurser of any of my kids. I wrote about this in here before, and think it
would be a wonderful study to find out the good implications this could
hold. I am eternally grateful to a thoughtful nurse that made sure my needs and
my baby's were met as naturally as possible in an unnatural situation.
Thanks for sharing the story and bringing a warm fuzzy feeling to my day :) Oh
and congrats to your family and welcome baby Alba...
