hi, linda!

i have tandem or triandem nursed through 4 pregnancies over this last
decade and every single time i had mature milk that gradually became
colostrum-milk toward the last couple of weeks. i also worried that
the finite supply of colostrum was being used up before the new baby
could be born. however, in each and every single case, birth triggered
the cycle to begin anew and i always reverted back to pure colostrum
shortly after each birth.

protecting the colostrum for sleepy newborns when i had voracious
toddlers was another matter, however - which led me to assigning
breasts and the fascinating discovery that the newborn breast
maintained colostrum much longer than the toddler breast as i watched
them produce milk completely independently of each other !! - but that
is another topic.
hth!

(where i just had 5 out of 5 children get hit w/ a bug that came w/
fevers up to 105 and accompanying hallucinations for all 5 children at
once and is just now beginning to see the humor in it all, as they
recover...)
