A friend and colleague of mine had great results at a health fair  
with this idea:

She purchased a copy of the children's book, "We Like to Nurse" by  
Chia Martin, illustrated by Shukyo Rainey (1995).  She made a  
separate 2-piece puzzle of each picture in the book.  The pictures  
were cut out, mounted on plywood, and cut with a jig-saw to make each  
picture into its own 2-piece puzzle, so that the baby animal could be  
"latched" to its mother to fit the pieces together.  The puzzle  
pieces were coated with a kind of shellac or varnish to make them  
durable.   All the puzzle pieces were mixed up on the exhibit  
table.   People who came to the health fair, children and adults  
alike, could not resist putting the puzzle pieces together,  latching  
the correct baby animal to its mother.  The lactation consultant  
accompanied this interactive activity with a large chart she made  
pointing out how milk is species - specific.  Milk differs according  
to the particular needs of the species.  She ended up with a constant  
crowd around her booth, talking and asking questions about  
breastfeeding.

The drawings are very simple (one reader critique calls them  
"primitive"), but do lend themselves to making 2 piece puzzles.  The  
book tends to be a great favorite of nursing toddlers, although the  
paperback edition does not hold up well through repeated readings.   
It does not have a spine, making it difficult for libraries or  
bookstores to shelve.

The animal pairs depicted are monkey, elephant, leopard, giraffe,  
llama, panda, zebra, calf/cow, pig and piglets, dog and puppies,  
sheep with twin lambs, cat with kittens, horse with colt, human  
mother with her baby.
