Dear Friends:
    The same issue of this issue of Pediatrics  that contains the article
about the analgesic effect of SSC, has another article "Biobehavioral Pain
Responses in Former Extremely Low Birth Weight Infants at 4 months corrected
age".  There is evidence that the effects of the early pain experiences carry
over for quite a while.
