IBLCE's President, pediatician Dr Bud Tanis wrote to Madonna while she
was pregnant, urging her to breastfeed. With Paul Fleiss involved,
one would expect she will at least have had the matter discussed with
her. Here's hoping, for the baby's sake and for the PR value of such a
role model to the young girls.

suppose the underpopulated continent, good food and weather to
contribute to your erudition- I am impressed ( of course, always have
been)>>
Tasmania is seeking to double its population to become more
finacially viable. As long as the quality of life and the clean air
don't deteriorate with the influx, it is fine with me. We currently
have one IBCLC for every 240 babies born each year, so if 1000
lactnetters wanted to relocate, it would rather skew the figures. The
weather here is cooler than I like, but the wilderness areas are
spectacular and the Southern Ocean is full of seafood. No wars on
our doorstep, but no kosher butcher either (yet!).

Hope you are all saving for the big Conference in Melbourne in 2000,
just before the Sydney Olympics. Here's hoping it will be granted ILCA
Conference status.
