this afternoon i saw a new family and i saved them from the babywise book. i
was ushered into their lovely home, and when i went into the living room i
saw the book on the coffee table. i immediately threw myself on it and
shouted, get out and save yourselves before it goes off.

okay, that wasn't how i really did it, i was cook calm and persuasive, and i
think i prevailed. but last week was the same story, it really seems like
there is a boom in this stuff lately. ack and alas.

i promise tomorrow i will post at length about treating cancer with
breastmilk. i would also like to hear any other accounts anyone has about
this having been done, even though informally. i will also talk about the
conference i went to, which was about neonatal sucking problems and
treatments with marjorie meyer palmer, who created the NOMAS training and
deals with treating feeding disorders. it was apparently for OTs and speech
therapists (see? i don't even know their initials) and i was the only known
lactation person there, although our own jill andrews, a retired OT and now
LLLL, was also there.
