been round for decades but is now called "Dancer's hand"? This may help keep
the baby on and maximise the maintenance of the latch. >>

Yes, we did. What the baby really needs is someone to completely hold the
breast tissue off the baby's chin. The slightest weight on the chin pops her
right off. We are sometimes able to get this just so and sometimes not.

<<2) (The ones I see tend to have Celtic ancestry, which is typical of about
one-third of Australians. Maybe this is coincidence?)>>

This mom is Greek--not sure about dad.

<<With the low palate, does the mother have macerated nipples? >>

Not at all--the baby doesn't do much at all at the breast except a sort of
kissing the nipple or she gets on just right--but very rarely and not for
long and requires a fast flow.

<< Once they could see what we needed to achieve, which was initially done
with the baby upright between the mother's knees (needing extra hands), they
went home to do some 'homework' on it. >>

This is exactly what does work when it does, but due to mom's size, the baby
always seems to be slipping away. She can seem to manage it w/ me there, but
not when I am not. And even sometimes when I am there, we can't see to get
that perfect flexion.
Thank you for your help.
