I had similar symptoms in myself. It may have been a little dermatitis that progressed to yeast. This happened at 18 months. It is the only time I have ever had yeast anywhere. I first noticed a little flaking skin. Later things got red and itchy and the skin began to break down. Of course this happened on a Friday night and I wasn't able to get to see anyone until Monday. I pulled out Jack Newman's yeast protocol and started washes with diluted grapefruit seed extract. Symptoms were improving by the time I saw my doctor who prescribed APNO and that fixed the rest and a year later, I have not had a return of symptoms. Toddler was not treated. So, dermatitis, yeast or bacterial infection, APNO and some grapefruit seed extract fixed the problem.

It may not be necessary to treat with anything else if the symptoms go away with the APNO.
