I just received a call from a mom who had just returned from her surgeons
office. She is exclusively nursing a 2 m.o. old. The surgeon told her she
had a big lump in her breast which had to be immediately excised. She now
has a drainage tube in the area which was excised. She was advised to wean
as she was told the breast may become further infected. I have never seen
this woman, she now wants a second opinion as to whether it is necessary to
wean. I was always under the impression the opinion comes BEFORE the surg.
Anyway, she's asked me for the name(s) of a knowledgeable surgeon in the LA
area. Does anyone have a reference??? Please e mail me privately as soon as
possible. Thanks in advance.
