Hi, Doraine, you don't need to vote on the design of the stamp, the
voting is for deciding on what to commemorate from the 1950's in
different categories (the USPS provides the choices which will become
clearer if you pick up the brochure at the post office).
The design suggestion is a separate issue, all they are asking for is an
IDEA for a stamp.
I think it might be a good idea to look at the types of stamps that are
already in existence for an idea on what the post office is looking for.
They only put "dead" people on stamps, sorry, but that's how it is. So I
think you need to suggest a concept, I think World Breastfeeding Week is
probably a good suggestion, because it commemorates a specific event in
time, or LLL's World Walk.although somthing that takes place in the US
might be more acceptable, loke WIC National Breastfeeding Week (which
took place at the same time as WBW last year), someone from USDA might
need to suggest this, I'm not sure. Anyone have Dan Glickman's email
address? (Is he still Secy of Agriculture?)
In the letter, you can explain what WBW is all about. Or the concept of
BFHI, I don't know if an "official" from BFHI has to be the one to
suggest this or not. If anyone from WABA or BFHI knows how we can do
this, please help us by posting to the list.
Doraine, some of this letter is addressed to lactnet at large, please
forgive me, I wanted to save time and copy the letter to the list!
Thanks for your enthusiasm!
