Brenda related a case history and asked about generating reports. I
seize every opportunity to send a FAXED report to anyone connected with
the patient's care (I have signed permission from the patient). I view
this as an opportunity to collaborate, educate and inform the
pediatrician, OB, midwife or hospital LC. They can then see how their
practices influence the outcome for the patient. They may see positive
signs or negative signs and learn from them. Sometimes they don't
change their ways that create negative results, but some will just refer
on to me and keep the bad info to themselves! You may not be legally or
ethically bound to send a report, but it is still good practice, in my
opinion.
