Jill,
  I love the Christams cards!
  I don't know anything about the Koran, but I know
that the Talmud also discusses breastfeeding and talks
about 24 months for healthy robust kids and longer for
sickly children.
  Also, there is reference in Genesis to Isaac's weaning
party. It doesn't say anywhere in the text how old he
was but I'm sure there is plenty of post Biblical commentary
about how old he was. There are several other notable breastfeeding
and weaning stories in the Hebrew Bible, just a part of life.
