Recently I replied to the list to correct a misunderstanding and the
original poster emailed me privately saying that she felt chagrined to
be contradicted so publically. That was certainly not my intent. My
intent was to further dicussion on an issue. When too many responses
are emailed privately and not cc'd to the list, eventually the list
can become less useful as an educational resource. I read Lactnet to
learn, and I want to be able to read the original question, and the
responses. I like to read about the outcome as well. I know for a
lot of you this is "old hat" stuff that comes out of your fingers
without even thinking, but I, for one, would have little idea of how
to get the 3 mo old adopted baby onto the breast, for example. (Some
people are *wonderful* about cc'ing the list, and I really appreciate
it.) I know I'm not hte only one who feels that way.

I know it will make the digests longer, but it will make them, and the
archives, more useful.

Congratulations to all the new IBCLC's! I'm so envious of you all. <g>
