Hi All,

I've been amused with the suggestions on discharge bags and what to do
with their contents. I thought I'd share what I've done with mine. I
have an almost 14 month old daughter and I also donated nearly 16
gallons of milk to the Mother's Milk Bank of Ohio. I've worked for my
state's health department as an epidemiologist for 5 years, and I have
a Masters in Public Health.

My bag- I stripped it of all logos and I use it to carry my hygeni-kit
parts and my pumped milk to and from home. I still use the lactation
rooms in my agency's employee health clinic to pump milk for my
daughter. Since I make a lot of milk, the large size is just right
for my ice packs, collection bottles and supplies.

The formula samples- I did an experiment. I mixed some up and put it
in a bowl for my two cats. My cats refused to drink it. They sniffed
it for a few seconds then left. Even they were smart enough to know
it was inferior!

The literature- I recycled it.

Cheers,

Jessica Lietz, MPH
