yes---I have seen this a few times.  I suspect the reasons are varied...mom 
too anxious, inhibiting oxytocin with epinephrine.  Or maybe a problem with 
the oxytocin receptors?  Did she go into normal labor?  Respond to Pitocin 
if given?  I have seen a couple who were induced and did not contract with 
the oxytocin...so I wonder about an oxytocin receptor problem there.

As I say many times every day, "It is embarrassing how much we do not know".
