Hello all,

The topic I've chosen as a student in Jan Riordan's absolutely wonderful
course in Breastfeeding and Human Lactation is "Breastfeeding after
breast cancer." I've been able to identify 3 studies over the past 7
years that have dealt with this topic.

I would love to get case stories about women who have breastfed,
successfully or unsuccessfully, after treatment for breast cancer
(including the type of treatment they had). If any of you know of such
situations (I found one in the archives from 1997) or have had this
experience yourself, I would love to hear from you privately at
[log in to unmask] Please feel free to share my email address.

Just so you know, this is not a research study and I haven't been
through an IRB. If I am able to get enough information there is the
possibility I will submit a manuscript for publication. I want to be
very clear that I have great respect for privacy and confidentiality. No
one's name or identifying information will be used. Any information I
receive will be immediately separated from the author/email address into
a word processing document. The original email will then be deleted. An
exception might be if I need to clarify information, in which case I
will follow the same procedure.

Hopefully I will have enough to post some findings to the list.

Thanks in advance,
Joan Edelstein, DrPH, RN
