HI all,

Does anyone know anyone.....??  Got a call last night from a man in Monterey,
Mexico -- the couple are missionaries down there (how they got my name is one
of those someone who knew someone who knew someone....),  In any case, the
baby is 15 days old, was born at home so there isn't an accurate birth
weight; father guessed it at 3.3 kilos based on bathroom scale.  In to
pediatrician and baby is 2.3 kilos.  (Ulp!!)  Peds (Saw yesterday) says baby
is "fine" (Well, I suppose there is fine & there is fine).  At 13 days baby
had not stooled since day 2, and then had another mec stool.  finally stooled
with rectal stimulation.  Mom just got an Evenflo pump, and pumps 30 minutes
a side, sometimes getting an ounce.  Baby cries when not at the breast,
suckles weakly (I can just imagine) at the breast, and falls "asleep."  They
change the diaper once every 24 hours since he doesn't poop & he hardly pees.
 they finally got worried enough to call the States, and here we are.  Does
anyone know an LC in that area?  I can't do this one justice from Wheaton.  I
gave them specific instructions on FEED THE BABY!!!  and we'll get the baby
on the breast with effective bf later, but for right now, FEED THE BABY!!!  I
am SO nervous about this one.....my goodness dear sir, please just FEED THE
BABY!!  I'm going to call them back today.... (When I said they had to FEED
the baby every 2 hours -- at least 12 times in 24 hours -- he said, "You mean
I have to wake him up?" )

Sometimes I think I should just work in a bookstore....
