Evidence from several studies- SSRIs in Breast Milk Pose Little Risk to 
Infants

LOS ANGELES — New mothers taking a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor 
generally pass only small amounts of the substance to their infants through 
breast milk. 

And several recent studies demonstrate little risk to children from the 
amounts of SSRI that they do receive, reported Dr. Victoria Hendrick at a 
psychopharmacology update sponsored by the University of California, Los 
Angeles.
