As IBCLCs we have an ethical obligation to protect client privacy, and many
countries have laws that healthcare providers must follow. In the US we
have HIPAA/HITECH, which set out very specific rules for us around our use
of technology.  Using the free version of Gmail does NOT protect client
privacy at all, and specifically violates HIPAA provisions. I have some
