Well....at least they are trying to see the baby gets colostrum!  Have you ever seen Diane Spatz's pix of what human milk storage looked like when she first started at CHOP?  It is hysterical!!!  All colostrum there now is stored with containers properly marked by dates and given in order that it was pumped.  From protocol #8 it appears that milk can be safely kept at room temp for 3-4 hours. .  Protocol #8 is a good start.  But what if milk/colostrum is missed at a feeding?  Can't sit out for that many more hours.  Better to just have a policy to refrig all and use in order.  If it is going to be days and days - freeze.  Pat in SNJ
