I would imagine there would be colostrum in breastmilk at any point, haven't
really thought about it. However, the concern was asked about a pregnant
mother looking to have a plentiful milk supply for a toddler. It's going to
be hard to get, because the body is preparing for a new baby, and the brain
is saying you just don't need the volume. Of course there are exceptions,
but it sounds like this lady was challenged to start.

Personally, nursing while pregnant was one of the most teeth-gritting
experiences I've ever had! I had a constant nurser, and no matter how much
he was on, it just felt like there was nothing there. I think it's nature's
way of telling the older child to move along to bigger, better things.

And now I need to quit thinking about other people's concerns. I've been
presented with my 25th cleft-affected baby, and I need to search the
archives to refresh my memory on how to assist this mother.

Best wishes,
Sam Doak

Isn't there *always* colostrum in breastmilk, even mature milk? I could
swear I heard Coach Smith say that at some point. ;-)
