As a book vendor I can answer this one. When a book is updated on a
yearly basis, booksellers need to keep a fairly low quantity of them.
Hale's distributors have chosen to use a discount schedule which makes
it impossible to make any profit unless one orders in very large
quantities (at least 100). Any purchases in smaller quantities have
discounts so small they are more than swallowed by shipping. It just
isn't worth it. I have been dying to carry the book, but it is simply a
losing proposition. I just try my best to keep my own copy current.
