I had this problem and found that the only really good postion was lying
down to nurse. Baby one basically started to refuse to nurse unless we
laid down at a time when the pain was the worst. I think he could tell I
was in pain. Baby two I very quickly went to lying down anytime I wasn't
having to pump. Made all the difference in the world for my neck and
shoulder pains.
