There is a chapter summarizing the research on breastfeeding, co-sleeping,
and SIDS in Breastfeeding: Biocultural Perspectives (edited by Patricia
Stuart-Macadam and Katherine A. Dettwyler, published by Aldine de Gruyter,
1995).  Also, the "commentary" by Doren Fredrickson from the same book
discusses his research showing that for every month of exclusive
breastfeeding, the risk of SIDS is reduced by 1/2.
