Lisa, I would certainly say that bf instructors do not make big bucks. So,
if money is an issue, and bf saves money by preventing illness, then paying
for bf classes and instructors is money in the bank for insurance companies.
However, insurance companies, in my experience, are not interested in
anything that will save money DOWN the road. If it costs today...we don't
want it. If it saves tomorrow, we can''t SEE it...Sort of the Scarlett
O'Hara approach.."Oh, I'll think about that tomorrow...tomorrow's another
DAY!" <G>  Here, we are having difficulty getting insurance to pay for a
breastpump for a mother with a NICU baby...even though it has been shown
that NICU babies who are breastfed get out of the NICU many days earlier
than their formula-fed counterparts. Go figure that one out.
