I have never been detailed by a Nestles rep.  However they send all sorts of
"throw away" articles from the Nestle's Institute (nutrition institute).
They also do far more "direct to consumer" advertising IMHO.

Nestles' is also the prime sponsor of the Pediatrics Section of the National
Medical Association (a historically African American medical society in the
US).  Last year I sent the NMA a query about why breastfeeding was not a
topic for last year's meeting.  The response I got was that members had
complained that they had "heard enough" about breastfeeding.

It was one of those "click" moments for me.  It helped me to decide to not
re-up my membership in the NMA.

Having that wavering feeling about the AAP (but dang I already paid my dues
for the 2002-03 year).
