I use Quick Books. It is pretty easy and intuitive for the
non-accounting person. (I have accounting training so sometimes it
drives me crazy by doing my thinking for me-- can be a challenge to get
around it) When you first install the program, it asks you what kind of
business you are conducting, and then selects accounts for you based on
that. Being an LC with a pump depot sort of crosses business types, but
I used the "retail" as my base, then added what was missing for my
services.

For remembering when pumps are due, I enter them into the "Tasks"
section with their due date, so I get reminded when a pump is due in.

I keep separate track of product sales, rental sales, and consults.

Ellen Shell uses Quick Books a different way to track pumps. She
actually places them into "inventory" by pump number, using a fictitious
quantity valued at -0- that she occasionally replenishes. I haven't
examined her system fully but was intrigued by it.
